Only if day care and tutoring is offered at no charge.

Maybe

What about lunch ladies, what about family's with no child care
1
If it was a true 4 day week for both students AND teachers
1
For Kids yes, teacher should work 5 for planning time.
1
Need more specific information about it
1
Need more information on what the 5th day would look like
1
I can see both sides
1
4 day week = too much opportunity for delinquency rates to soar, vandalism, petty crime to soar, etc. One more day out of school = one less day learning, kids will be even less prepared for college, life.

Undecided

I think cri.e and teen pregnancy would definitely go up if we went with a 4 day school week.

3 RENOVATED high schools. Status quo is unacceptable.
1
3 high schools, changing boundaries to balance schools and renovate current buildings
1
More balanced enrollment between the 3 high schools
1
Leave open enrollment
1
Would only support 2 if built at same time. One on southside and one on northside.
1
3 schools, no open enrollment and redraw boundaries
1
3 high schools with boundaries redrawn to evenly distribute the students
1
3 high schools with improvements and maintenance
1
Best $ sense

Open to whatever solutions set our children up for success. Smaller class sizes and accessibility are most important to my family.
1
I'm not sure what the best option is. I would need to see the numbers for new buildings vs the costs the improvements that are needed. I woud also like to see a comparison on the current energy costs vs what they would projected to be in new buildings.
1
3 high schools, renovated
1
We need to stop acting like separate parts of town are different entities and figure out what's best for the collective students.
1
Homeschool or Private Schooling
1
More info needed and the citizens must be involved in making the decision
1
2 highschools ONLY if NOT based on the South end/North end business. Current proposals to split kids up from their known school families to re-create Benton and Lafayette is ridiculous. Stop fudging with enrollment numbers in reports to justify keeping particular schools open!
1
Extensive Renovation to all three schools as opposed to building three new contemporary ones (Form follows function)

We need real leaders willing to do the hard tasks to get the district toward the main goal which is academics

Our facilities are the only thing we have going for our district, and even those aren't up to par. Sports are going good, but when we try to put money towards those and NOT other necessities, were focusing on entirely one topic, when we need to focus on ALL IMPROVEMENTS NEEDED.
1
NONE!!
1
More pay for support staff.
1
That it was once considered one of the best
1
There are a lot of great teachers, but there are also some not so good.
1
The family and community involvement with all our schools. Especially the elementary and high schools.
1
Teachers & Volunteers
1
People who want to make it better.
1
I think that is varies from school to school and even classroom to classroom.
1
Only see chaos.
1
Support the good teachers you have and find more of them, they are out there!!
1
I am very disappointed in the behaviors and lack of respect I see in the elementary and middle schools. I think the teachers have thei hands full, but I see no professionalism in many teachers. Dress codes are very unprofessional. I don't have the answers but the moral decline I see in the schools is very bothersome.
1
As far as social indoctrination goes, I feel as though the SJSD has kept a decent job in keeping it under control. It's not perfect, but it's better than coastal schools by a long shot. I look forward to seeing that the school board continues to keep our schools free of woke indoctrination

Lack of leadership with the School Board
1
People on the board that need to care about what we teach our children. And the teachers need raises. We should not be adding jobs before we pay the teachers more.
1
All the above
1
Can't choose just one when they're all pretty worrisome.
1
Religion dictating what is taught.
1
ALL OF THE ABOVE!! THE SJSD NEEDS AND ENTIRE OVERHAUL!!!
1
Support staff is treated like shit, better representation.
1
More Support staff in the schools and work on the treated poorly and paid poorly, teachers are paid poorly conditions, everyone is afraid of disciplining students. Not enough support for the foreign teachers. Financial management is terrible and spent on sports not what the buildings need. Get ride of the heat pumps in the 6 school and replace the heating and cooling systems. Allow staff to train with state police and be armed to protect our schools so they are not a soft target.
1
No facility to house students with behavioral issues similiar to previous Colgan Center programs..
1
Administration
1
Lack of updated boundaries
1
Keeping all 3 high schools and makibf them all equal.

Teachers salary

We need a higher tax base - NOT enough $$$ to fund the public schools in St. Joseph - state is draining public tax dollars away from public schools to support private tuition waivers at private schools. My other big concern is the way Christian Nationalists in St. Joseph use the public schools to brainwash children into believing in their hyper-patriarchal view of the world--disastrous for our community, our country, and the world!
1
Public schools are meant to serve ALL children. It's inappropriate and unconstitutional for a church to try to force their religious beliefs on a public school.
1
The idea that going to a 4 day week will cure the hiring and retaining good teachers. Paying teachers better and providing modern facilities would do more.
1
People who believe social indoctrination is actually happening because it’s not
1
Teacher Salary

This social engineering/grooming in schools is not ok and to think we have people on our school board more concerned with social cultural issues than just focusing on academics is mind blowing to me that this Insanity ever entered our conservative town. This must stop
1
Attempts by extremist religious groups to infiltrate public education
1
Attempted social indoctrination by conservatives based on tradition or religion rather than academia and research. Also a lack of good funding and treatment of teachers driving good educators away and requiring their spots to be filled by underqualified substitutions.
1
Persons like Dragoo, McMillan and Chesney having anything to do with our city or our schools
1
How does using the term "social indoctrination" on this survey make it an unbiased survey??
1
The District isn't great at managing its budget. regardless of weather or not taxes are raised, I'm skeptical of the ability of the board to put their money where their mouths are and put it to good use.
